The Circle was inaugurated on the 26th June 1914 and its first President was William Phillips
Bristol (26) Circle has a proud record in the Association and is the oldest of the Circles comprising Province 12. It was actively involved in the formation of Bath Circle (192) in 1960, Weston-Super-Mare Circle (204) in 1961, Swindon Circle (231) in 1966, and the City of Bristol Circle (240) in 1967. Brother Robert D. Burns was Grand President of the Association 1954/55. The Circle’s 1000th meeting was held Ashton Court Mansion on the 8th March 1999 under the Presidency of Brother John Mulready. Members of the Circle were joined by the Grand President and 117 visiting Brothers. The 1100th meeting was celebrated on the 14th Aprl 2008 at the Holland House Hotel, Bristol. Grand President Philip Gidman and over 80 Brothers, Visiting Gentlemen and guests were present.
